Jim E. Sloan is a wealth manager and president of Jim Sloan & Associates, a comprehensive wealth management firm located in the Houston community of West University. Mr. Sloan is an Investment Advisor Representative of Global Financial Private Capital LLC, an SEC Registered Investment Advisor. This relationship allows the firm to bring institutional level experience, practices and pricing to individuals and business owners age 55 or better. Mr. Sloan is supported by a financial planning team, CPAs, business and estate planning attorneys, and others, to help their clients achieve their financial and retirement goals.
Mr. Sloan has authored two books, How To Avoid Huge IRA Tax-Traps, published in 2006, The Financially Informed Boomer published in 2011. Jim publishes a quarterly newsletter The Financial Times, writes consumer reports and conducts private and public speaking engagements, discussing the ever-changing economic and financial landscape, as well as the opportunities that it brings.
In 2009, 2010 and 2011, Mr. Sloan was recognized as a “FIVE STAR Wealth Manager” for overall client satisfaction based on research conducted with clients, peers and regulatory sources. This distinction represents less than 2% of wealth managers in the Houston Region.
Mr. Sloan believes in a compensation model of transparency and full disclosure, earning fees and commissions for his services. This compensation model allows Mr. Sloan to provide a diverse array of savings, insurance and investment options to solve many problems investors face today.
Mr. Sloan and his wife of 16 years, Lorri, reside inWest University, believe in the name of Jesus Christ, travel often, play golf together and give back to the less fortunate in the community.
